baby kendall number 3 - maternity shoot

i wasn't going to worry about getting any maternity shots this time around... i thought, it's my third baby, do i really need them? then i remembered the baby book that i put together for madeline a few months ago, because she was mad that joseph had one and she didn't. of course i actually done one for her, it just wasn't as good (her words) as joseph's (because it didn't have pictures!) oh my word. so that was the moment i realised that i had better do the same thing for each child or suffer the consequences.

so here we are... down by the river in guildford, taking photos at dusk, with just minutes of the right light and more big ass mosquitoes than i ever wanted to see. but it seems like we got what i wanted!

a huge thank you to darrio for giving up her time to snap these for me ♥

and may i present baby kendall number 3 - at 38 weeks + 5 days... which i was really worried about too, in case i cut it too close and he appeared before i could take these

apia waterfront project

a few months back i received an email from a lady who works for a government development department in apia, samoa, where my husband was born. she was writing to ask my permission to use a photograph she had found on my blog (here) for a sign on the waterfront in downtown apia. oh my goodness was i thrilled to pieces! we had such an amazing time there and i took so so many photos and blogged about every single thing we did, so i was beyond happy to share it. i responded with a gleeful yes and a request that perhaps she might be able to show me the completed sign sometime in the future...

so imagine my delight when last week i had a reply, complete with a detailed picture of the sign (my picture is of the catholic cathedral top left) and a picture of the sign in real life on the waterfront. i'm so proud... one of my pictures on display in downtown apia. yay!

beach family photos

i had a blast a few saturdays ago, taking photos on a beach down in mandurah with a friends sisters family. it was full on, 15 adults, 3 kids... and just for good measure: a dog. but it was fun! there was lots of laughs and some great pics. ♥

another maternity shoot for jen

okay i confess... i am currently suffering from a rather bad case of bump envy, because i spent the day taking photos of my bestie who is only 3 weeks away from her due date with baby number two. she is positively glowing (although like every pregnant woman, i am sure she just wants that baby out!) which made it easy as pie to get some great shots ♥

we headed to the railway line that runs below the road by my mum and dads house with an old bentwood chair from their table and started snapping away... (for your information, clackline is named as such for the railway line that used to run through the town)

seriously how stunning does she look?

that is one gorgeous belly!

we even managed to get the boys in for some shots that were cute... which is a miracle in itself, not going to lie, boys are a pain haha

the macqueen family is about to grow by one... and i couldn't be more excited for them!

ellenbrook sisters ❤️

i love these girls... a few weeks back, sister aperaamo was transferred on, and i got a phone call asking if i could please snap a few pics before she departed.

i was only too happy to do so, and laughed with these awesome sisters as they messed about, said silly things and walked down a nearby alley way.

it has been such an immense pleasure having them in our ward and although i am sad to have said goodbye to sister a, i know she is needed elsewhere to continue to serve...

“The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.” - Joseph Smith Jnr

one year down!

monday marked one year in our kendall dream house and i was so proud of myself, because the photo wall was done with two days to spare! i promised doug when we moved in that i would have it done before we had been here a year, so i realised a few weeks ago that i would have to get my act together if i was going to make the deadline.

when we moved in, the previous owners had kindly left their frames in place for us to have... and i was so grateful, as it was done beautifully... all perfectly spaced, aligned, matched... every ocd's dream. also amazing as i would have had to a) find new frames that perfectly fit into the spaces that were left, or removed all the screws, filled, sanded and repainted the wall. ummmmm, nobody has time or patience for that!

so onto etsy i went. i had a rough idea of a few prints i wanted to purchase, and got looking for the family proclamation with the option of adding our own wedding photo, the thirteen articles of faith and the living christ (the testimony of the twelve apostles) my search came up great when i stumbled across lemons that are pink on etsy, who had all three prints that matched, but was willing to go the extra mile and create me a custom family proclamation to match them. yay! i was completely and utterly amazed by her customer service and attention to detail, as all three prints came out beautifully, were sized perfectly to the measurements i gave her and she sent 3 proofs of the family proclamation with ever so slight changes, with no problems at all. i highly recommend samantha... she's the best!

i am so beyond happy with the wall and how it turned out. i couldn't help myself for the first few days, i would just go into the hallway and stare at it. so happy!

a picture says a thousand words... but this wall says a million ♥

sunday love

she is a big four year old now... and although i never need an excuse to take more photos on a sunday, that was as good a one as any. presenting miss madeline kendall, a princess with her castle. how i hope she sees it as that as she continues to learn and grow.

and this barrel of energy? priceless. not a day goes by when he doesn't make me laugh. i mean seriously, look at those facial expressions. he is just the sweetest.

but this photo truly took the cake... the look of absolute disgust on joseph's face, that only a younger sibling can wear when being assisted by their older sibling. i can't stop laughing every time i see it.

the sweetest kids in the world... and they are all mine. ♥

landis family photos

today i had the absolute pleasure of taking family photographs for some very close friends. throughout the month of december, the australia perth temple presidency opened the gates to the temple on monday nights, to allow families to visit during their weekly family home evening. this was the last opportunity to do so... and what better place could there be for family photos, than within the beautiful gardens of the temple?

sometime i look back on photos and feel as though i really manged to capture the personalities of the people in the shots. today was one of those days. it made me so, so happy to go through the shots later and pick which ones i was going to edit.

and the beautiful surroundings made them even better!

this is by far my favourite, just that cheeky little grin - surrounded by the most loving parents.
just. so. much. love.

and this photo definitely proves that they are one of those couples that are still as in love now as the day they got married. ♥

i am in love with mason's cute little grin. he just makes me happy every time i see him.

i could do photos with rob & bianca over and over, my camera loves their family as much as i do... but i am so glad we had this opportunity to make some beautiful memories in a beautiful place.
