Delaney Road Settlement Day

The day has arrived and the first home we owned has officially sold and settled and is now home to someone else. We have had so many happy memories here and loved our home and our neighbours and being where we were. I didn't even want to move because I loved the where of our house so much... which is why the new house was perfect of course! 700m up the hill.

The house is the cleanest it's ever been, everything is shiny and ready for the new owners and we finally took the very last of our belongings up the hill... yesterday haha. One last shelving unit that had been in the garage, sticking out of the back of Doug's ute.

So goodbye Delaney Road! Farewell to our incredible neighbours who we love so much who are thankfully still just down the road... and goodbye to the place where we had so many wonderful memories... and hello to the new house - for some wonderful new ones!

Enough keys for you? hahah. Reminded me of the last scene in Friends where everyone put their keys on the bench.

And just because I am who I am... there's two pages of notes for the new owners. Oops.

Millie's Birthday Party

Over the weekend we had a celebration at the Macqueen's house to celebrate the sweetest three year old I know, miss Amelia! She is the most adorable child and I just love her so much. It was a lovely afternoon full of pastel rainbows and cookies and milk and a great time was had by all - except her.

The poor darling was so sick that she didn't even get to enjoy her day and spent most of it between the couch sleeping and cuddling her parents. Poor little love. That cookie in her hand was basically a prop as I don't think she ate it or enjoyed it.

She did put on a brave face when it was cake time though and let Aunty Jade snap some pics for her mummy.

3 candles, all blown out. Sweet girl.

And a cuddle from mummy to keep her going.

One quick shot with the fam and then back to the couch she went.

Look at miss Sophie! She is getting so big. I love her sweet, smiley little face!

These crazy kids made up for Millie's lack of enthusiasm and smashed the pinata, giggling the whole time and loving their afternoon.

Yet another cake masterpiece from Jen - a cookies and cream edition. She wasn't that happy with it, but I thought it looked great and it was certainly delicious!

Last but not least, a photo of my little nugget. Sometimes he's cute!

Flower festival

Today we ended up with a bonus public holiday, in memory of Queen Elizabeth. So Hayley and I took the girls on a mini influencer excursion to S&R Orchards for their annual flower festival.

They set up the entire orchard with cute props all over the place for people to take fun photos with, like this mini retro caravan, plus there are food trucks, live music, and even a mini ferris wheel. It's so much fun, I'm absolutely filing it away for a visit next year, but maybe not on a public holiday as the lines were insane!

These girls were absolutely living their best lives though, taking hundreds of photos and loving every minute.

They even managed to talk us into buying them fairy floss which were by far the cutest ones I have ever seen!

Honestly these girls are goals, this is the kind of thing I could have only dreamed of doing with my best friend at that age!

I have never met two girls that spend more time laughing either.

They just laugh at anything and everything. Non stop.

and love every minute of being together.

They are at the age where they are all arms and legs and this shot shows that off haha

I especially love this pic of Maddie, her hair looks amazing in the sun - it is so many different colours and the light here really shows it off. She really is a lucky girl, people pay so much for that colour!

I even jumped in a couple of the shots, managed to get some time off being her "instamum" for a few minutes.

The flowers were so beautiful too.

There was spring blossoms in full bloom everywhere and they were so pretty to look at.

Almost as pretty as these girls. ❤

After school baking

After finally moving my kitchen contents from one house to the other, Maddie had her little boyf over after school for a baking session. As you can see I think they actually spent more time taking selfies than baking, but they managed to get some cookies made and in the oven before he went home.

They are so cute together, I love hearing them laugh as they hang out.

Cuties.

Moving the wardrobe

I finally moved my clothes - and this was only one run. It took me 3 goes to get it all there. What the heck. I am getting considerably more and more over it by the day. Please send help. But it's done thank goodness - which means I guess I can go and start on something else. Ugh.

We also had our first moving victim - a floral two tiered plate that I have had for years and actually never used, so I guess that's something to be grateful for. Luckily it wasn't something I was upset about. We are getting there, slowly day by day. I think I can, I think I can.

Rest in peace your highness

Last week Queen Elizabeth II passed away. I feel like I have included so many life and world events in my "diary" here so I need to add this too.

She was a truly remarkable woman who dedicated her life to service. Service of her country and to her people. I know she was not perfect and no one is, but I truly admire her efforts to do wonderful things in the world around her. She reigned as monarch for more than seventy years, making her Britain's longest reigning monarch in history. She was so loved by her people. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved Philip.

Moving Day!

Yesterday was finally moving day! Mat came and brought his truck and we moved loads of furniture up the hill piece by piece for a few hours. There wasn't a great deal we could preload unfortunately so thankfully we had a lot of willing hands to get it all on board and up to the new house.

Maddie was recognised as the princess she is and escorted out of the house lying on our couch by the Armitage boys.

This was the aftermath in the theatre room. Gives a pretty good insight into just how gross it is when you eat on any furniture! Ick.

I also drove a manual for the first time in ages - with a trailer attached for the first time ever! I don't know how I've managed to make it to this age without ever driving a trailer, but I guess one of my brothers or my dad was always there to do it. Well, ticked that off the to-do list.

Up at the new place, these two were relaxing when the last load was done. It really didn't even take that long, mind you, there is still buttloads of stuff at the old place - including my entire wardrobe contents, the kitchen and everything loose in the garage, but the large items that needed a truck to move them are all done. We are well on our way. Just need to make up the beds to be able to sleep tonight.

The old house is a mess, the new place is a mess - it's pretty crap right now and it's making me crazy. I kind of want to set fire to both places and be done with it. But we will get there. It's just a matter of time.

I mean seriously. Nothing we can't fix right? Oh my goodness. What have I done? Hahahaha.

Faction Carnival 2022

Today was our school faction carnival so of course we had to go all out. Red from head to toe, including hair spray, personalised hats, socks, tutu... the whole lot. Giles is our red faction and we have after today now won 5 of the 6 years of our time at ESPS. Pretty good colour to have been allocated I think!

I was decked out in red too as I was on canteen duty for the day, although spent the majority of my day selling sausages on the oval. No complaints here, meant I got to watch my kids and be amongst the fun.

Maddie and Ella had carefully coordinated their outfits, including their coloured visors which Hayley had even personalised with their names. Way too cute.

Even their glittery parts were matching, chunked out with glittery gel. (This was not fun to wash out, but we got there in the end.)

There was an additional member included in the squad though, Maddie officially has a boyfriend as of the weekend, Jake Hayden himself, who would have thought? hahaha. Seems pretty pleased with himself though - and who wouldn't be, she's top shelf our girl!

Hayley did a hat for him too and they rocked them together for some photos. Cute as.

My favourite photo of the day though, was absolutely Ella's BeReal, with a stack of them from their year all in under the marquees at lunchtime. It's so cute.

Maddie and Ella have been friends since Pre-Primary. Hayley and I did some digging on our phones and found these. I love these carnival shots of them over the years. They are just the cutest.
