all dolled up

whoever said having a baby wasn't like having your own doll was totally wrong. i absolutely love dressing this little girl up!!! she is so so so supercute and makes everything look much better than it did on the clothes hanger. to say that she's spoiled rotten would be an understatement... i swear she has almost as much clothing as i do!!! and way too many pairs of shoes... luckily her mother and nanna are die hard op-shoppers and get it all cheap - so bring on the huge wardrobe i say!! who needs a reason to get dressed up? we certainly don't!

cupcakes :)

for cody's birthday last week - i made him a batch of colourful cupcakes from jen's fabulous recips - aptly called "best ever cupcakes"... they were freaking awesome - and now doug keeps begging me to make more. so i happily obliged - and dipped the icing on these ones in hundreds and thousands and shredded coconut. so so yummy. maybe having a baby has been good to me in more way than one. ;) i've become a kitchen whiz!

afternoon tea

so flipping excited! found this book yesterday while waiting for my pics at k-mart... and had to have it. you see i'm a bit of a sucker for a good afternoon tea - and after the awesome job we did at jen's kitchen tea and my girlies did at my baby shower i just couldn't resist.

can't wait to make some of the stuff in it - and am very much looking for a good excuse to throw another one... just waiting! :)

five and a half years later...

in just 9 days - doug and i will have been married for 5 and a half years - freak! what a long time. it embarasses me to admit that my finished wedding album arrived on monday. yep that's right after all this time, i have just completed and ordered the album that i honestly meant to do years ago. but i must admit it was worth the wait - it looks really freaking good - and the best bit? $45 bargain i picked up on scoopon - hardcover, with 60 full colour silk magazine style pages. and... i made it myself!

so for all you people who said i was undomesticated and couldn't cook - here is two kinds of proof that i can!! above - exhibit a: brownies for doug and cody's birthday dinner on tuesday night - even dusted and arranged for our guests delight

and below - exhibit b: potato baken (yes - not a mistake) potato bake with added bacon - was yummo. maybe i'll be a "real" housewife one of these days! :)

fathers day number 1

today my lovely husband (aka madeline's lovely dad) woke up to this for his first fathers day ever. i could not resist sharing cause she is so so so freaking cute! he is already such a wonderful dad and i know that he and maddie are going to be the best of friends.

happy father's day!!

i also think my own dad deserves a mention, he is such a wonderful man. he is always there when i need him and is just well, amazing.

so to the two dads in my life... i love you heaps! xx
