The baby next door

Yesterday we finally got cuddles with the baby next door! The lovely Nicole had a baby girl two weeks ago and Miss Madeline has been actually dying inside, waiting to meet her and have a cuddle. A flu shot was a requirement, which makes perfect sense in the world we are living, so Maddie bravely marched off to the doctors for her needle. I was so so proud of her. All because she wanted baby cuddles.

As you can see it was 100% worth it! Every day of the two weeks until it was in full effect, we counted down and rubbed a new number off the fridge - until we finally got there.

She is just a little doll - and funnily enough, just about the same size Madeline was when she was born. So teeny tiny. A real life doll to cuddle.

The baby whisperer was hard at work and kept baby fast asleep the whole time. Won't be long until she has her own babysitting service haha. Love this girl and her mad skills.

baby sophie has arrived

at long last miss sophie evelyn has arrived. baby number four (and definitely the last!) from my best friend jen. she is the cutest little thing and definitely cut from the same mould as her sisters. newborn perfection in all its glory.

miss madeline and i went for a visit at the hospital today for some cuddles, madeline is sooo good with babies and is still asking for another baby. i don't know if it's going to happen, but i wouldn't be sad... she has been such a wonderful help with alex and she just loves having a baby to love.

i mean seriously, someone get that girl a baby!

we are so happy she is here and can't wait to love on her as the days go by. ❤

keryn's baby shower

yesterday was a wonderful day, that had been waited and prayed for for years. our friend keryn and her husband have finally been blessed with a baby and threw the cutest baby shower. it was teddy bear themed, "we can bear-ly wait to meet you," at her favourite restaurant, amarettos in ellenbrook.

me with my mad memory skills took out the name the celebrity babies competition with a perfect score and scored myself a little gift pack. lunch was delicious and the very best part of the day was hearing her give a little speech and getting teary as she said to our group, "this is a day i always hoped for, that is finally here - and i just can't believe it's happened." the absolute best.

i can't wait to meet that little man you're growing. ❤

jen maternity shots - take 4

my best friend jennifer is about to have her fourth and last baby so i was called upon to take maternity shots one last time. as per usual she looked like an absolute babe and getting shots of her was easy.

but. they say you should never work with children or animals and here's why. oh just kidding, how cute are her kids, one perfect shot out of a huge stack and it was actually the first one i snapped.

a very serious jacob for once

the ever smiley isabel

and princess millie!

cannot wait to give this baby cuddles in a few short weeks. i love love love newborns and i am so excited.

we even got daddy mat to bust out his wedding ring for the occasion and i am so glad for it cause this shot is everything!

i just love the two of them and feel so blessed to have them. i've known mat since kindy and jen since year 4 at school. i think as far as friendships go, we are in it for life.

plus, the best part about this shoot was that i finally got to take some photos under the clackline bridge! i have been wanting to for years and here we are. woot.

couldn't resist this one either. mat has always been the class clown

but above all that, he's a fabulous dad.

renay's baby shower

it's not often that i am rendered speechless, but when i walked into my friend renay's baby shower today, i certainly was. i had been asked to attend and assist with the desserts a few weeks back, but then covid threw a spanner in the works and the shower was cancelled. yet as luck would be on our side, not a single further case was reported during our week of lockdown, so renay's family decided they would make the shower happen. oh and did they make it happen.

an entry hall full of dried and strung citrus, along with huge while helium balloons and lights...

and then exquisite decorations throughout the house

no detail was left untouched, with beautiful florals

greenery and wooden pieces

and crisp whites to set it off

renay herself was a vision, also in white, absolutely glowing. she is so deserving of a beautiful day like today and i felt truly blessed to be a part of it and to be able to capture some memories for her.

i'd been asked to make all the desserts for the party, banoffee pie, carrot cake,

brownies

chocolate chip cookies and lemon pie bars.

plus the drinks, watermelon & mint water and strawberry, cucumber & lemon water

honestly, check out these details, so simple, but effective. glass bottles with greenery, water and a long white candle to complete the look

and the foodwas amazing. renay's mother and sisters had spent hours setting up a grazing style feast for the guests. delicious!

we had a diy pamper section, where guests were able to make themselves a soak/scrub to use at home, led by the lovely dom

and a few games that left guests roaring with laughter

before renay settled in underneath her little arbor to open her gifts. baby honda is definitely very loved already!

the rouse girls

and one with their mum. truly a wonderful family. so lucky to know them. ❤

and this girl? she is going to be the best mum.

she's amazing.

and for once i actually appeared in a photo. ❤

today was a good day!

alex is eleven months!

what the heck is going on? how is time going so fast? this time next month i will have a one year old and i don't think i am okay with that!

this month alex has:
-crawled around gotten into absolutely everything
-pulled out all the dvds over and over and over
-been kicked out of his capsule and into a rear facing seat so that aunty jenny's new baby millie can have his capsule
-put anything and everything into his mouth
-pulled out the cereal at any possible opportunity and when it's the froot loops tips throws the box onto the ground and tries to eat them off the floor like i don't feed him
-walked along on his hands and feet rather than crawling, kind of like he doesn't like to use his knees... it's so funny!
-for the last month or two he has been threading his necklace over his thumb when he sucks it. he just likes to have it there to feel. it's super cute, but very annoying when he tries to do it with my necklace and almost chokes me!

baby alex, you are so, so loved! ♥

baby alexanders bedroom

i have finally moved all the rubbish (well not rubbish but all the things that have homes that weren't in their homes) out of alexander's room and now it looks like a baby's room! poor child. it wasn't undone, but it wasn't done... but now it is. dad came and worked his magic a couple of weeks ago and put up a picture rail for me to put some of his cute things up on display.

my mother kindly painted me these drawers i found on gumtree whilst pregnant (and by kindly, i mean she rolled her eyes and said jaaaaaade, why did you buy those? they have broken bits and dad is going to complain about having to fix them and do you know what a pain it is to paint things white?) and they look amazing! so happy, she's the best. huge props to dad for doing the fixing too.

then, whilst opping in northam last month, i found these gorgeous prints which i just knew would be perfect for his room. i am loving his little space. congrats baby alex, you've finally got your own room... almost a year later!
