Baby shower cake

At it again today, making a baby shower cake for one of Madeline's wonderful Young Womens leaders. She is not long off having her first baby - a little boy and the girls decided to surprise her with a little Baby Shower for tonight's activity.

It was a hell of an undertaking, as it's been so hot! Nothing would stick, or set and honestly I was about to give up. But in the end, this simple semi naked vanilla cake, with tinted buttercream, rosettes and sprinkles did the trick.

And there was not a single piece left, so it was obviously good. My favourite no fail vanilla cake can be found here.

keryn's baby shower

yesterday was a wonderful day, that had been waited and prayed for for years. our friend keryn and her husband have finally been blessed with a baby and threw the cutest baby shower. it was teddy bear themed, "we can bear-ly wait to meet you," at her favourite restaurant, amarettos in ellenbrook.

me with my mad memory skills took out the name the celebrity babies competition with a perfect score and scored myself a little gift pack. lunch was delicious and the very best part of the day was hearing her give a little speech and getting teary as she said to our group, "this is a day i always hoped for, that is finally here - and i just can't believe it's happened." the absolute best.

i can't wait to meet that little man you're growing. ❤

baby shower banoffee

my amazing beautician is heading off on maternity leave and i am going to be left devastated as i don't only love her skills, i love her for who she is. we are born just a few days apart and share so many loves in life... we constantly joke about our overachieving ways, the fact that we allow everyone to treat us like crap and then smile and keep going and our inability to let anyone help us with anything. so imagine my delight when she allowed me to make a banoffee pie for her baby shower! i was so thrilled - and even more so when i saw pics of it proudly on display in her photo album from the day. rach i love you to pieces and will be counting the days until you're back on board! until then i'll just spam you with terrible harry potter and anxiety memes. hahaha! ❤

renay's baby shower

it's not often that i am rendered speechless, but when i walked into my friend renay's baby shower today, i certainly was. i had been asked to attend and assist with the desserts a few weeks back, but then covid threw a spanner in the works and the shower was cancelled. yet as luck would be on our side, not a single further case was reported during our week of lockdown, so renay's family decided they would make the shower happen. oh and did they make it happen.

an entry hall full of dried and strung citrus, along with huge while helium balloons and lights...

and then exquisite decorations throughout the house

no detail was left untouched, with beautiful florals

greenery and wooden pieces

and crisp whites to set it off

renay herself was a vision, also in white, absolutely glowing. she is so deserving of a beautiful day like today and i felt truly blessed to be a part of it and to be able to capture some memories for her.

i'd been asked to make all the desserts for the party, banoffee pie, carrot cake,

brownies

chocolate chip cookies and lemon pie bars.

plus the drinks, watermelon & mint water and strawberry, cucumber & lemon water

honestly, check out these details, so simple, but effective. glass bottles with greenery, water and a long white candle to complete the look

and the foodwas amazing. renay's mother and sisters had spent hours setting up a grazing style feast for the guests. delicious!

we had a diy pamper section, where guests were able to make themselves a soak/scrub to use at home, led by the lovely dom

and a few games that left guests roaring with laughter

before renay settled in underneath her little arbor to open her gifts. baby honda is definitely very loved already!

the rouse girls

and one with their mum. truly a wonderful family. so lucky to know them. ❤

and this girl? she is going to be the best mum.

she's amazing.

and for once i actually appeared in a photo. ❤

today was a good day!

luisa's baby shower

yesterday we celebrated our beautiful friend luisa who will be having a baby boy in just a few weeks! this baby shower has been a long time in the works and during the uncertainty of covid and not being able to organise and book a location, i offered up my house for the day to make sure it could go ahead.

our mates elena and keryn have been working on the day for weeks, constructing a blue and leopard print party. what a wild theme. not something i could picture but they managed it!

they had thought out every last detail, including drinks on arrival

and an epic grazing table with desserts.

i was so blown away, i had not long been home from dropping the kids off to school when luisa's husband and his brother turned up and did the grazing table all by themselves. i am so impressed it's insane. they have the skills mate!

here is our guest of honour and the girls who made it all happen.

and her epic cake (made by my bestie!) it looked incredible.

we laughed, chatted, played games and ate ( alot!) and had a wonderful afternoon.

last but not least, i have to showcase these. mum and i spent hours stitching, turning and constructing these scrunchies for the guests to take home. such a cute idea! totally filing that away for future parties!

i can't wait to meet the little man when he arrives. so exciting!

jens baby shower take 2

take 2! it wasn't that long ago that we were doing this for baby number one... and here she is heavily pregnant with baby number two and looking a-maz-ing!

jen is having a girl this time around and the lovely girls from the mothers group (that mat attends haha) insisted on organising her a little pink shindig at the macqueens this afternoon

complete with this adorable cake...

girly decorations

and games, which mum and i couldn't be beaten at. i must admit, i feel like if i've been to a baby shower people must never want to invite me back... i always seem to win the games and today was no exception! oops.

oh my word. i am so excited to meet the little girl she has on board... i am sure she is going to be as adorable as her mama! ♥

a baby sprinkle for jamie-lee

look at that belleh!

my friend jami-lee is having another (what i am 100% certain will be another stunningly beautiful) baby in a few weeks. so yesterday her clever mama threw her a baby "sprinkle" in honour of the little ones imminent arrival.

jamie-lee and her awesome mama deb ♥

deb is quite the pro at parties and threw one heck of a little bash, high tea style, complete with epic goodies (including this gorgeous chocolate sponge cake pictured above) and a multitude of other amazing things

i helped out a little bit by loaning someof my hire items, including the gorgeous vintage trio sets that mum and i have

and snapping pictures as the day went on

seriously yum!

set up and ready to go!

some snaps jamie-lee shared at the end of the day

i am so excited to meet the new little miss v when she arrives and was thrilled to be a part of today. thank you to the hamon crew for inviting me! ♥
