fully cooked!

well - this baby is 100% cooked and ready to go. 40 weeks down and ready to meet us any day. it's all just a waiting game now, but i am truly praying that i don't have to be induced again! i can't believe the day has actually arrived... it seems like i have been pregnant for so long, yet the time has really passed quickly. thank goodness!

these kids are very excited to meet their baby brother.. so watch this space and hopefully he'll be here sooner than later! ♥

stake conference - (39 weeks)

baby kendall is 39 weeks today, almost ready to meet us!

we had stake conference yesterday and i decided to get what i am hoping is my second last pregnant photo in front of the temple. it reminded me of that scripture from the bible:

"train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." 

- proverbs 22:6

i am hoping from my example as a mother that my baby will have a love for the gospel and especially for the temple the way these two do. i remember when we went to dianella ward (our stake centre chapel is on the same block as the temple, common in australia where we have the smaller style temples) madeline used to sit in her carseat waiting for her first glimpse of the angel moroni as we turned the corner to the chapel and used to put her little fist to her mouth and make a doodoooo noise like she was blowing a trumpet. it was the sweetest thing!

i truly will be trying to raise my children in the way that they should go. ♥

baby kendall number 3 - maternity shoot

i wasn't going to worry about getting any maternity shots this time around... i thought, it's my third baby, do i really need them? then i remembered the baby book that i put together for madeline a few months ago, because she was mad that joseph had one and she didn't. of course i actually done one for her, it just wasn't as good (her words) as joseph's (because it didn't have pictures!) oh my word. so that was the moment i realised that i had better do the same thing for each child or suffer the consequences.

so here we are... down by the river in guildford, taking photos at dusk, with just minutes of the right light and more big ass mosquitoes than i ever wanted to see. but it seems like we got what i wanted!

and may i present baby kendall number 3 - at 38 weeks + 5 days... which i was really worried about too, in case i cut it too close and he appeared before i could take these

matchy match! (34 weeks )

here we are... 6 weeks to go and still feeling good. madeline got dressed for church this morning and insisted she was wearing her "skirt that matches your dress mum" and that i needed to wear mine too. i happily obliged and it absolutely made her day... i just wish it was that easy to make her happy all the time!!

maddie is going to be such a good big sister... she is super excited about her baby brother arriving soon and i know she will help so much. maybe this having a 7 year old and a baby thing won't be so bad after all! fingers crossed!

28 weeks

grow baby grow!

just for those following along at home... baby k is 28 weeks along today, everything is going well, still feeling good and my little bump is growing steadily. it's all very exciting... not too long to go now!

another maternity shoot for jen

okay i confess... i am currently suffering from a rather bad case of bump envy, because i spent the day taking photos of my bestie who is only 3 weeks away from her due date with baby number two. she is positively glowing (although like every pregnant woman, i am sure she just wants that baby out!) which made it easy as pie to get some great shots ♥

we headed to the railway line that runs below the road by my mum and dads house with an old bentwood chair from their table and started snapping away... (for your information, clackline is named as such for the railway line that used to run through the town)

we even managed to get the boys in for some shots that were cute... which is a miracle in itself, not going to lie, boys are a pain haha

the macqueen family is about to grow by one... and i couldn't be more excited for them!

jens baby shower take 2

take 2! it wasn't that long ago that we were doing this for baby number one... and here she is heavily pregnant with baby number two and looking a-maz-ing!

jen is having a girl this time around and the lovely girls from the mothers group (that mat attends haha) insisted on organising her a little pink shindig at the macqueens this afternoon

and games, which mum and i couldn't be beaten at. i must admit, i feel like if i've been to a baby shower people must never want to invite me back... i always seem to win the games and today was no exception! oops.

oh my word. i am so excited to meet the little girl she has on board... i am sure she is going to be as adorable as her mama! ♥

student midwife program

this lovely girl cuddling our baby is jourdin - a student midwife from curtin university - who is not only absolutely amazing, but someone that i now consider a good friend. upon waltzing in to one of my antenatal appointments at the osborne park clinic, i met her, sitting with the midwife who was doing my appointment. we got to chatting and i asked her question after question about what she was doing - and more importantly what are you doing here ?! i learnt all about the curtin midwifery continuity of care program and that i could have her at all my appointments and that she would be there to help deliver the baby when he arrived. sooooo - after how well we got along and how much we laughed i was like hey why not? so i chatted with doug and is was onn!

we had a great time together over all the months that i had clinic appointments - and then unfortunately due to family circumstances, jourdin was overseas when joseph was born :( but we still love her! she's been to check ups and such with us since he was born and the other day came with us to have his hip scanned too! at an appointment with the gp we discovered that joseph had a clicky hip (which maddie also had...) but again we have been given the all clear! nothing wrong with him at all! we did use it as a great excuse to get a picture of him with our sweet boy that i can keep. and aren't they cute?!

i have to admit - i love all the midwives i have met - and everytime i leave the hospital i desperately want to be one. the only thing is, i cannot bear to see anyone in pain... so maybe that's not the job for me. i'll keep thinking about that one...

i admire them so much, their calmness in what can be such a stressful environment, their caring and the love that they have for each and every patient that is in their care. it is so inspiring, and i am grateful every day that i have been blessed to be cared for by such beautiful women. ♥

not so long ago...

not so long ago... miss madeline was in there! yep. just over five weeks ago! it's so hard to believe that she even fitted. luckily... we managed to fit in a pregnant shoot in - just hours before i was admitted to hospital to be induced. in this case - there was definately not going to be any do-overs!! penny (the photo whiz!!) doug and i went over to lisa's house to "borrow" her navy blue wall and got some fabulous results!

my favourite! i am constantly amazed at pen's awesome skillage!

i love this guy - best dad there ever was, he's doing such an amazing job with my little girl! x

getting very exciting, less than 6 weeks to go

and... starting antenatal classes on monday,

i hope they are a lot more interesting than they sound haha

kick kick kickety-kick

not too much to say for updates babywise... it's still in there :) still growing, and making sure i know that there's less and less room each day - with a steady kick kick kick kick-kick. i think i'll really miss it when it stops... but i guess by then it'll be kicking in real life! how exciting!!

in other news... no more work as of june 10! i'll be laying around (or maybe nesting) getting bigger and... waiting.

25weeks+2 days

unfortunately not looking as pregnant as i'd like...

in most clothes i still just look fat

(which is a good thing i suppose - i've still got quite a way to go!)

but it's definately in there!!

kicking and squirming so i won't forget

can't wait to meet it, i'm pretty damn excited!

last night for the first time...
i could feel the baby moving from the outside!
it was squirming when i was ready to go to sleep,
a little more than usual -
and sure enough, with one hand on my tummy
i could feel it's little squirm from there

doug will be so excited!! as last week, he announced to some friends of ours that he felt left out because i said "doug! the baby's moving!" so he put his hand on my stomach to feel it and felt... nothing. i tried to explain that it takes time, but he enjoys teasing me. i can't wait for him to feel it too!! :)

ultrasound

so i had my ultrasound today -
(more info and pics to come tomorrow!...)
but for those who are dying to know

we don't know for sure what it is!!
the tech said she's 80% sure it's a girl - but can't say for certain
so i guess i had my way after all - and
i don't know!! :)
and now - we'll have to wait and see!!

butterflies in my tummy!

i was 19wks yesterday - and tomorrow brings an exciting adventure... off to have my first ultrasound - and (sigh) to find out what "flavour" baby we'll be having!!

(sigh explained - i never wanted to know what we were having, but doug really, really, really wants to know, and i think even though he could totally keep a secret from me for that long easy... it's mean him having to, so i am taking one for the team - and tomorrow i can report on whether it's a blue one or a pink one!)

i have been wanting to to say for weeks now - she's doing this, or she's fine... i have no idea why... but pip thinks i have motherly intuition. methinks?? i'm never right - so it's gotta be a boy!
i'll know soon though!

i have been feeling "flutters" and slight amounts of movement in my tummy for about a week now - since last fridayish (19.02.2011) so i definately know there's something in there. i didn't realise what it was though, until carmel at my work asked me if i could feel the butterflies yet!
perfect explanation... i have butterflies in my tummy -
but one day it'll be a real, live baby to kiss and cuddle

milestone no. 1

my first big milestone...

on monday morning i put my work skirt on and tried to do up the button, and it no longer fits! well... it does, but not comfortably that i'd be happy spending a whole day with it killing me.

so nappy pins it is - holding the tp of the zip together.
my own nappy pins - that mum gave me a few weeks ago - from the days that i wore nappies. :) all together now... awwwwwwwwww

there will be a baby joining the kendall house in july this year!

very exciting news! :)

(i was 12 weeks on saturday (08.01.2011)
meaning it is due on 23rd july)
but we'll keep you all updated

mum to be is not enjoying morning (pfft all-day) sickness

grandparents are beside themselves
and baby is growing well
