kindy father’s day morning

oh kindy... it's certainly never boring. today was josephs father's day morning and although daddy couldn't come because he's busy at work, i went along and we built this adorable tool caddy together! how cute is it? or more so, how cute is the child holding it?!

he was so proud of himself and whacked the living daylights out of the thing with the hammer we'd brought along... and although i had to start each nail for him, he did a pretty good job. i was watching my fingers though, he was pretty hammer heavy!

concentration plus... that little tongue of his was hanging out as he hammered away! way too cute. i am sure daddy will love his little caddy ♥

joseph's semester 1 kindy open day

little joseph had his semester one kindy open day yesterday, to give us as parents a chance to look at their portfolios, have a chat to their teachers and have a bit of fun!

my cute boy and i ♥

joseph is loving school and we are so proud of him, he is always so happy to spell (we have two sets of letter cutters and he is constantly spelling words all over the house with them), count (he can count well into the 300s!!!) and write. what a clever cookie. mind you, all the credit goes to his big sister maddie who is so obsessed with school (and playing school) herself that she barely leaves him alone!

i am so proud of his writing especially... he could barely do his name at the beginning of the year, now look at him go!

we love our little man! ♥

madeline's kindy grad

i honestly feel like i blinked and all of a sudden this school year was over... this evening was the primary school open night and miss madeline graduated from her kindy class. we are so proud of her and her eagerness to make friends and learn about absolutely everything... she's just grown up so much!

madeline and her two best friends from school, charlotte and isabella with their graduation certificates.

madeline receiving her certificate from mrs tiekink

the kids sang for all of the parents on arrival.. the good old tune "a sailor went to sea" that is so old that we sang it back when i was at school.

and just like that it's almost over... our little girl is a big girl, school finishes next week and next year she is in pre-primary full time. i can't wait to watch her take on the world!

a day for dads ❤️

this guy i married ten and a bit years ago... the dad to my kids, is pretty freaking awesome and i want to tell you all about that today. the kids love him so so much and when he is playing with them, or even just talking to them, all i can hear is squeals of laughter and utter delight. i certainly picked a good dad for them,

we bought doug a top from each of the kids and they were presented to him by these two, madeline wearing his and joseph carrying his along (little kid is so stubborn!!) it was so cute to watch them handing them over.

madeline made doug this yummy bow tie in primary yesterday...

and today doug arrived home from her fathers day morning at the kindy this morning with this adorable card and keyring that they had made for the dads. so so cute!

we love you daddy! ♥

book week 2016

this adorable little gumnut took part in her first bookweek parade earlier this week. shattering my dreams of dressing my little girl up as madeline from the classic book, this years theme was apparently "australian books" so we went with that and busted out an original snugglepot and cuddlepie costume. (there is always next year and the year after and the year after that to do madeline!)

the tutu was a gift from some beautiful friends of ours when she was still very small and we were thrilled to see it finally fit as it was perfect for the occasion. add a little green tshirt dress and dads green beanie with cut up serviettes stapled on and yellow shoes and we were ready to go.

maddie and isabella the koala

and with her kindy squad... these girls are the best ♥

keiras birthday

another saturday, another party... saturday was maddie's friend keiras birthday party at another one of the play centres scattered about the place. the kids played, while the mums drank coffee (or in my case milo, kindly bought for me by another one of the mums that's learnt i'm not a coffee drinker) and gasbagged as the day went by

she and the squad had a ball as usual, oh i love these girls ♥

after school hangs

yesterday we had our first after school play date with maddie's friend from school isabella. it makes me so happy seeing her with her little friends and knowing she is so happy with her life and loving her school. there was even an added bonus, that isabellas little brother and joseph are similar ages, so the party was on for young and old.

of course the girls had to put on something matching which cracked me up to no end, i remember well the days of pretending to be twins with  my friends by wearing the same clothes. we had a lovely afternoon and i can't wait for my next catch up with isabellas mum - cause mums have fun too!

inflatable world

another party today for the kindy squad! gem had her birthday today (and was quite unobliging about having her photo taken hence the lack of her presence in these pics) at inflatable world in malaga. the girls had such a good time, i love listening to them laugh together

isabella charlotte and madeline, the 2016 esps kindy squad!

maddie at the bottom of one of the slides. inflatable world is set up in an indoor sports centre and runs in the off season, an awesome idea if you ask me!

i am loving the kindy parties, can't wait for the next one ♥

ice skating!

we had our first kindy birthday on saturday, for madeline's friend isabella and maddie thought all her christmases had come at once, because it was at the ice skating rink!! she is forever asking if we can go ice skating and was thrilled to bits to finally try it out. it has been about 17 years since my last ice skating adventure (back in young womens) and i am proud to say that i didn't fall over once. it certainly took effort to stay on my feet and not end up on my butt, but i managed it.

i forever hear about isabella and charlotte, "my best friends mum!" and today i saw the three of them hanging out together, laughing together and having the time of their lives, so i quickly snapped this pic of them. i love knowing that maddie has made friends at school!

we loved ice skating and can't wait to go again!

mother's day pamper morning

today i was pampered by my little madeline, during a mother's day pamper morning at her kindergarten. she is so blessed to have two beautiful, understanding women as her teachers who go out of their way to ensure the children (and mums!) feel special and loved.

we arrived to a sign on the gate as we enetered, wishing us all a happy mother's day

and a tea/coffee and muffin station (this mummy thought ahead and brought along a hot chocolate sachet haha) where maddie made me a drink

inside the classroom there were stations set up for our little ones to pamper us... madeline gave me a hand soak and massage

she painted my nails... (thank goodness for nail polish remover) we made a cute necklace for me to keep together (filing away the idea for future reference, patterned paper straws cut into pieces to make beads) and she gave me a three second shoulder massage. looks like her attention span is as long as mine hahah. (there was a hair styling and foot spa station too) it was just the cutest thing and i felt so loved!

and as we left, we each got some handmade bath bombs. this anti bath mama may just have to try them out because they look really cute. all of our childrens artwork was displayed by the door, thank goodness she said something nice about me!

this mum gig can be pretty tough. but it's days like this that make it all worth while.

i love you miss maddie. thanks for making me a mummy! ♥

the cutest little bunny

today when i picked miss madeline up from "kindy school" i had the most lovely surprise... as she and her classmates rushed out the door with pink bunny noses and whiskers and cotton wool bunny ears that they made themselves. it was so cute that i honestly almost cried! i swear ever since having kids, the littlest things set me off haha.

she looked so adorable and sweetly offered to share her loot in the little bags they made in class with joseph and i. oh i love her! she made the cutest little bunny! ♥

off to school

look at her!!! our little girl was so super excited this morning and could not wait to get into her uniform and rush off to "kindy school"

she looks so grown up i can barely stand it. wahhhhh.

me and my favourite little girl

with mummy and daddy and raring to go

and getting a little nervous... but daddy was there to reassure her

she and joseph have spent every day together for so long that i thought he would be a little more upset at her disappearance but he took it well and was fairly calm all day.

her school bag that's almost as big as her hahaha

we all took her to school to drop her off and she was a little rockstar... she ran in, said hello and go straight into the activities, chatted to the other kids and didn't bat an eyelid when i said it was time for us to go. then when we picked here up she was full of stories about her class, classmates and her wonderful teacher, miss wheeler. we are so excited for her and what this year will bring.

go little kindy girl! the world is yours for the taking!
