jacob is 4

on saturday we got to attend the clackline social event of the season, master jacob macqueens fourth birthday party. my bestie jen put in a phenomenal effort making a disney cars themed shindig for him and as usual no one was disappointed. the centrepiece of the day was this amazing cardboard mack that jen found on gumtree and i wedged into the back of my car. the things you do for your mates. but seriously, it was so, so cool! i know she had been planning to make one, but when it turned up already done...  

 

our little birthday boy had the best day, munching on some goodies, wearing a cool cars t-shirt, laughing and playing with his mates. living his best life! seriously though, can we please take a moment to appreciate the fact that he had a lightning mcqueen party and his last name actually is macqueen? mate, as far as i am concerned that allows for major bragging rights at that age!!

baby alex had an great time too, being carried around by jen's sister-in-law and madeline for most of the day while i snapped pictures all around the place.

how cool are these cookies jen whipped up? lighting mcqueen, jackson storm and cruz ramirez eyes. joseph was well pleased. this party would have been all his dreams come true a few short years ago!

i loved jacob's little face when jen bought the cake out... there is seriously nothing more exciting than seeing your birthday cake for the first time and jen's cakes never disappoint. this was pretty epic. 

it was an awesome day and we were so glad to be a part of it ♥

jacob m is three (a paw patrol birthday!)

saturday found joseph and i in clackline in the cold and rain, partying it up at jacobs 3rd birthday! as per usual jen had thrown herself into it all head first and blew everyone away with her hand painted paw patrol background (which i believe was finished at 3am!) and perfectly themed food. she's a winner, that's for sure.

jacob loved his party and was so excited by everything.

bananas in pyjamas party

 

so because joseph woke up happy as larry on saturday, i made an executive decision and left him home with doug and took madeline to clackline for jacob's second birthday party... which was a bananas in pyjamas theme! jen is so talented it's actually ridiculous, she hand drew, then painted these bananas on wood, then cut them to size, to have them on display at the party,

i also loved these banana balloons she found online... a few "lucky" guests got to take one home and now there is one bobbing around the floors at my house haha

baby jacob is 1

today we had a birthday party for the cutest one year old i know. baby jacob turned one last week and so i helped jen put together a dr. suess first birthday. jen as usual, pulled out all the stops with making this epic cake, with a hand drawn cat in the hat on top. winner!

it may have been jacob's birthday but we got a gift too, these amazing cookies from petit cakes, worth every penny... they were awesome!

can't wait for the year ahead little man!

clackers and baby jacob

mum and dad got home from the uk wednesday night and needed a ride back to clackline, so i threw my hand in the air and quickly snuck off to visit jen and baby jacob once i had them home and safe.

he spent most of the time i was there sleeping, but that's okay... you can still cuddle a sleeping baby. i got my fix.

and today we went to york, played at the park and got a haul from the salvos... everything you see for $20. this is why we love york. 

i am so glad mum and dad are home and safe. it always makes me feel good when they get back.

and i love clackline. you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl. all these years later and i still feel at home driving those long roads and getting out to the farm in the bush. i love that place and it will always feel like home.

he's finally here! my best friend jen had her baby on friday!!

madeline and i finally got to visit tonight and he is adorable! the sweetest little face, so sweet and snuggly and so much hair! i am in love with him already. she certainly made one cute baby.

i mean seriously. look at that face!

and look how excited madeline was! she was so stoked to have a baby to hold... she is such a little mummy and loved every second of it. 

i am so excited and can't wait for more cuddles ♥
