all dressed up with somewhere to go...stake conference!

it was stake conference on sunday and it was lovely to be at dianella chapel, seeing as it's been almost a year since we moved to the new house and see so many people we love and miss. of course we then had to bust out a few obligatory selfies while we had the temple in the background ♥

and these kids are just the cutest... they were so good for the whole meeting. just love them!

tonight i had the privilege of singing at saturday night stake conference with two of my favourite girls from our ward. i had a very unexpected call from our stake president a few weeks ago, asking if we would be able to prepare a musical item, consisting of at least two sisters... we managed four with our pianist and worked together so well, that from the very first practice, there was never any doubt that we would be able to present something wonderful on the night.

we chose an arrangement of "come thou fount of every blessing" by sally deford (which you lds music lovers can find here) and it was just perfect to set the tone for the meeting, which was all about teaching in the saviours way. what a wonderful blessing it is to be a part of the gospel and to be able to sing such beautiful songs to draw closer to our father in heaven.

we hit up the aquarium earlier this week with some of the pinker crew and as usual had the time of our lives... lots of noise and laughs from the kids and non stop chatter from the rest of us.

madelines new favourite thing at the aquarium is the pineapple fish... and insisted on having some photos with them

i had a cuddle with the starfish (my favourite thing in the world!)

and actually managed to get my husband to smile.

we went for food afterwards and then had icecream at cold rock, where maddie swung a little too quickly on the chair and i got this epic photo of her. the kids are just too darn cute.

a day with the pinkers is always a good one! ♥

a day for dads ❤️

this guy i married ten and a bit years ago... the dad to my kids, is pretty freaking awesome and i want to tell you all about that today. the kids love him so so much and when he is playing with them, or even just talking to them, all i can hear is squeals of laughter and utter delight. i certainly picked a good dad for them,

we bought doug a top from each of the kids and they were presented to him by these two, madeline wearing his and joseph carrying his along (little kid is so stubborn!!) it was so cute to watch them handing them over.

and today doug arrived home from her fathers day morning at the kindy this morning with this adorable card and keyring that they had made for the dads. so so cute! 

we love you daddy! ♥

my dad ❤️

if you've not had the pleasure of meeting my father, i hope that one day you do. he is an absolute gem. he always knows exactly the right thing to say at the right time and is loved by everyone who knows him. i loved him as a child and love him even more as an adult, now that we can have twice as much fun with bad jokes and terrorising the rest of our family.

we drive mum crazy with our obsession of pulling terrible faces non stop while we are face timing... and i love that he is always keen to take ugly selfies with me too. i just love him, everything about him - and i am so glad he is mine and that my children get to enjoy him as much as i did (and still do)

us four children have always loved to attack dad at every possibility and today on fathers day... doug gleefully took aarons place while i got my camera out to make sure we could remember yet another crazy day in the goodlet house, with dad, the original man of the house - right at the centre.

i am proud to say that this little one is definitely a goodlet... car mad and intently reading the street machine mag he found on the coffee table at jareds. hilarious.

zara is 4

maddie's friend zara turned four today and we went to her birthday party at the cuddly animal farm near our house. we think she is pretty special, and seeing as she and doug share a birthday, it just adds to her awesomeness ♥

her birthday theme was a unicorn one and our little miss insisted on busting out this gorgeous pink and gold unicorn shirt. too cute! we started by attempting to handfeed the guinea pigs and rabbits from the buckets and trying to give the friendlier ones a cuddle.

zara was a little braver than maddie so she held, while maddie patted haha.

there were free train rides

which the kids loved (don't believe josephs face here, he had a good time, honest!)

and a carousel, my favourite! no matter how old i get, they still excite me :)

and of course some amazing food at lunchtime from the vincent crew

i mean seriously, look at this rainbow cake, was just as delicious as it looked!

book week 2016

this adorable little gumnut took part in her first bookweek parade earlier this week. shattering my dreams of dressing my little girl up as madeline from the classic book, this years theme was apparently "australian books" so we went with that and busted out an original snugglepot and cuddlepie costume. (there is always next year and the year after and the year after that to do madeline!) 

the tutu was a gift from some beautiful friends of ours when she was still very small and we were thrilled to see it finally fit as it was perfect for the occasion. add a little green tshirt dress and dads green beanie with cut up serviettes stapled on and yellow shoes and we were ready to go.
