A visit to mums

We took a quick trip up to mums for an op-shop run at the York Salvos, then a sleepover at Nanna's followed by breakfast at Dome in Northam and a visit to the Northam Aquatic Centre with their cool waterslide setup. The kids were completely wasted by the end of day two and slept like the dead... so much so that when Alex woke up in the night and had a fit then parked himself between Madeline and I, she didn't even stir. In fact, come the next morning, she was still fast asleep with him laying practically on top of her. That pretty much defines their relationship. He wants to be two centimetres from her at all times and this was no exception. Alex loves Maddie 3000% and there is no doubt about that.

a jar of jam

i always used to make jokes about having a third baby so i could complete my neapolitan ice cream tub. i'd say that i had my strawberry and my vanilla and that i just needed a chocolate baby to round it out. obviously i am well aware that the chances were slim to none, but i held fast with my comments, saying that if doug came out red as a throw back, why couldn't we have throw back to a previous darker generation haha.

but here he is - and he's in no way a chocolate baby. i've given up on my neo dream, because i got a jar of jam!
joseph alex and madeline,
two strawberries with a dash of vanilla. they are perfect and i couldn't love them more if i tried! ♥

sibling date

so, dougs sister arrived home on friday to stay for a month. clearly it was important that we get in some sibling time while doug had the day off on monday, so off we went to the megabarn for a day of opshopping while both the kids were at school. woo!

we had a great time and i got some awesome bargains... what could be better? ♥

christmas gifts from winter woodworking

further to my last post, i swear i am going to be organised this christmas. so much so, that i ordered my brothers christmas gists last week too! they are getting personalised wooden christmas decorations, made by our friend who owns a home business called winter woodworking. he is so clever and i have to admit, nearly every time he posts something new on his page, i feel like i need to buy whatever it is haha. thankfully none of the boys read my blog, so here is a sneak preview of their decorations. so happy with how they turned out. mr winter, you are amazing!

besties...

these kids are besties, no doubt. i frequently find maddie 10cms away from wherever i have left joseph chatting away to him, passing him toys, smiling at him and giggling away, which he now does back. she is obsessed with making him laugh, which makes my heart so, so happy.

when he was smaller she would always take his dummy away so she could lay next to him and get close to him. it would be so hard to get her away from him. she still loves to have him close and will always check his bed a million times when she is waiting for him to wake up, cause "he wants to play with me!" she also reminds me over and over that he's crying when i can't rush straight to him. thanks love, i have my own ears...

i really hope they remain close as they make each other so happy.

i saw this beautiful frame necklace for sale online at the lovely bird (a gorgeous store on the sunshine coast in queensland - can't wait to check it out when we are over for a few days on our way back from samoa next month) and snapped it up with the thoughts of putting a pic of my babies in it. i could not have wished for a better picture and i am stoked to be able to wear them close to my heart.

i love them both - and am so glad they love each other. ♥

happy birthday bro!

happy birthday to this ratbag brother of mine. the youngest of my older brothers, who i worshipped and followed around like a puppy as a child. he is one of the funniest, craziest and most laid back people i know, so fiercely loyal and ever caring. we have had our fair share of arguments and craziness over the years, but i love you isaac, like a fat kid loves cake and hope you had the best birthday ever!

maddie and seffa

i am the luckiest person in the world. two from two. a boy and a girl. a pigeon pair. and they are absolutely adorable. i can't get over just how cute the two of them are and how much madeline loves her baby brother is just amazing. all i hear all day is, "mummy! mummy! where's jofiss? i see him? i kiss him?" she is absolutely obsessed with him and it makes me so happy.

it can be a little difficult at times, like when she tries to climb into his bassinet to cuddle him (unfortunately she has succeeded more than once...) and when she insists on holding him twentysixthousand  times a day. but at least she likes him. that's better than some sibling relationships i have seen in the past. i only hope that in 15 years time she still feels the same way about him.

i especially love this picture of them together - the look of utter disdain on his face whilst maddie is having the time of her life tickling him "mummy i tickle him!"
one thing is for sure, i am going to enjoy the heck out of them!
