isabel's frozen party

miss isabel macqueen had her birthday party yesterday - a frozen party! and as usual her mum pulled out all the stops to make sure it was the coolest party out. ha. did you like what i did there?

here i am with the guest of honour. my favourite child haha

and best friend jen. we still manage to get a selfie in every now and then.

baby millie made the cutest mini anna i've ever seen

and isabel had the most incredible elsa dress i've seen, complete with sparkles and shimmery fabric.

grace and madeline were on hand to make shaved ice slushies by the truckload as all the kids shuffled through.

so good!

banoffee pie and snowflake cookies made by moi and jen - a joint venture haha

plus snowballs and snow coated brownies

anddddd frozen jelly slice! it's my first time using clear "flavour your own jelly" and i was so happy with the result. it looked amazing!

jen outdid herself - as she does every year... i actually don't know how she always manages to top her previous efforts every time, but she hand painted an ice castle to have at the back of the table!

and the kids had the time of their lives playing with the snow machine. so much mess, but so much fun!

oh to be a kid again. ❤

the cake was increddddddible as always and delicious too.

the happiest birthday girl!

i just love her so much. ❤

the macqueen family. my favourite people out!

frozen on ice

madeline and i have been to disney on ice everytime it's in perth since she was two years old. so, this year was our fourth time! this year was super exciting for pretty much every little girl on the planet, because this time, they decided to do frozen on ice! frozen is great (although not my personal favourite) and they would be silly passing up doing frozen on ice, wouldn't they!

madeline and i went with aunty dom for a girls night out... and had a blast as usual. the three of us always have a good time, so adding disney into the mix made it even better!

my favourite part of the night was olaf's song "in summer" where he was surrounded by bees, butterflies and flowers, so so cute!

during the intermission we found madeline's friend brooklyn from school, so they had to dance about, do some spinning and sing in the foyer. crack up kids.

elsa and anna dancing up a storm

of course, the highlight for madeline was seeing elsa sing "let it go"... as usual, disney did everything to perfection, you really can't fault any of their shows.

i must admit though, i am much more excited about the shows that they do when they change the theme/ story every 10-15 mins or so. i love being able to watch multiple stories and seeing how they put each one on show. for this reason i am especially looking forward to next years one, which is apparently going to be an anniversary show. hooray! can't wait.

we love you disney on ice! ♥

disney on ice: magical ice festival

disney on ice, we love you!! this year is the third time madeline and i have been to disney on ice at the perth arena and all i can say is wow! they just keep getting better. this year was no exception and we loved every minute of the show.

doug and i bought madeline an "elsa" dress a few weeks ago to surprise her with before the show. she was so excited and her little face lit up as she squealed "is that for me? did you buy it?" and ran to grab it from doug and put it on at lightning speed. (well my love, i certainly did not stay up for the last few weeks sewing it for you haha)

it added that much more fun to the night to be dressed up as a princess, especially when we referred to her as your royal highness all night. she was loving the attention!

she was so excited though, when she saw that i had dressed up too. i was about to put on jeans and a tshirt when i decided last minute that it would be fun to dress up too and pulled out my red skirt and minnie ears that i had stashed in our dress up box. it was a winning combination and madeline was very excited about it. oh mum! you're minnie!!

i love this girl so much it hurts

my minnie get up haha ♥

my favourite this year was tangled... if i could possibly pick a favourite disney movie, i think that would be mine. i love the lanterns, the songs and most of all the sarcasm. best disney prince ever!

mads was also super excited to see the frozen section. what little girl wouldn't be. especially when we saw the signs in the foyer saying that next years show is frozen on ice. wild horses couldn't keep my girl from that one!

elsa doing her thang... let it gooooooooooo

maddie kept asking where her friends were (we went in a group last year and she was missing her little mates) and as the most crazy thing ever, we ran into them across the road when we headed to the car.

it had been ages since they'd seen each other last and it was quite the reunion... i love how much they love each other!!

a photo with the chicks... what an awesome night!

we love you disney on ice!! see you next year! ♥

setita's frozen birthday

we love birthday parties! and today was no exception, as madeline had been invited to a frozen party! she was so excited and i don't blame her, i remember exactly how exciting it was to go to a birthday party as a kid.

there was a face painter, which madeline was so excited about... she is love with having her face painted and sat very still as it was done... she was excited too though, as all the girls at the party had dressed up as elsa from frozen and she was the only anna. she loves to be her because "i have red hair like anna!"

maddie with the face painter

madeline is so in love with myra, every time she sees her she wants to touch her face and cuddle her. someone needs to get this kid a little sister! haha

see what i mean? she is so madly in love with her!

setita with her frozen presents from us

and with her family ♥

seriously though, the highlight of the day... the amazing cake! seriously. i have never seen anything like it... especially seeing as the girl who made it has apparently never made a fancy cake before. that is some crazy talent right there!

and just for good measure an awesome shot of the birthday princesses younger brother. adorable.

thanks for having us at your party setita, we had an awesome time! xxx

ruby's frozen party

today maddie and i got to attend ruby's frozen party! ruby is a girl in maddie's nursery class at church who maddie talks about all the time, "ruby's my best friend..." so she was super excited, and even more so when we told her it was a frozen party. i think every little girl i can think of right now is completely obsessed.

ruby's mum did such a good job though... the kids played musical statues and pass the parcel to songs from the frozen soundtrack, pin the tail on sven (the reindeer from the movie), had a little lunch with frozen themed food... marshmallows (the big scary snowman in the movie is called marshmallow), carrots (cause sven likes them), popcorn (looks like snow), blue jelly (looks like frozen water) and drank from water bottles with funky printed frozen labels...

but the coolest game? they got to build a snowman of their very own! such an amazing idea! here is maddies... she was so excited to make one and then show it off to me. ruby's mum also made a frozen cake, with white snow icing, blue toffee ice and the characters from the movie. so cool. (pun intended.)

and just when i thought there was nothing else that they could possibly do to make it any better, along comes an ice cream truck. can't get much "cooler" than that!! the kids were stoked and so were the big kids, as ruby's parents bought us all one too.

ruby and her cousin blowing out the candles at the end of the day... i feel so lucky to know people so kind to invite us to their childrens special occasions and i know madeline had such a good time... there was even a goodie bag with blue easter eggs and a frozen "kinder surprise" egg, which i know a certain little girl can't wait to open!

coolest party ever!
