sister kendall

dominique and i have a joint pinterest board - called sister kendall, which is mostly inspiration for mission clothing. the description for the board says, "i refuse to look like an idiot..." and she is doing well to ensure she doesn't. seeing as her papers will be going in soon... today she had a trial run of packing, ensuring that everything she packed could be worn with multiple other items... so it was a fashion show in my bedroom.

she has certainly done well though... with the cheapest sister missionary wardrobe the world has ever seen... between random things she has, hand me downs, things from my closet (mostly also from the opshop and hand me downs) and opshop finds
from top left...
1. cardigan a hand me down from a past sister missionary to me, dress from the local op-shop
2. dress and cardi from the op-shop
3. cheap $3 cardigan from supre, op-shop dress (worn as a shirt) and restyled skirt (bit of running in on the sewing machine, really not bad for a first attempt)
4. dress from 3, cardi from 2
5. dress from 1, worn as a skirt, shirt $10 from valleygirl, hand me down scarf from a friend of mine
6. cardi from 1, shirt from 5, $10 maxi skirt from dotti at harbourtown

i can't wait to see what else she comes up with... but there'll be 18 months worth of opportunities!

sister kendall here she comes!

threads for the baby

my husband loves his music. he's obsessed in fact. maybe it was one of the things that really brought us together... mutual love for music? but we don't always see eye to eye on it. there are some things that i'd rather he didn't listen to when i was around... but that doesn't mean i don't know he listens to it.

we also love our fashion. him especially, he's quite the styler and often gets comments on his snappy dress sense (yes i just said snappy)... i follow so many people on instagram who have gorgeous kids dressed in fabulous clothes and love to see what people have come up with.

this morning i was instagramming up a storm while doug was playing his xbox, and came across the kids on beau hudson (check out their website, super cute kids clothes, i have already snapped up a few things) rocking this amazing t-shirt from passive juice motel which i knew doug would kill for! so, i got off my high horse and bought it. i am sure maddie can rock it like a pro (maybe...) - and it will certainly be worn by another baby kendall given the chance.

doug loves biggie and 2pac. like i can't even tell you. although i probably could - as i've been told time after time why they were so important... so when i kept scrolling and realised that they had 2pac mini tshirts? in the cart that went too.

as well as a mini plush 2pac cushion

and a plush biggie...
mum i'm sorry - but i couldn't help myself.

their whole website it full of very cool things for kiddos (and adults alike...) go and check it out.

bella blooms

my gorgeous friend from school - keryn - has started her own facebook page called bella blooms - click here to take a look! she is handmaking gorgeous headbands for babies and little girls, which can also be custom made to adult side upon request...they are amazing and the second i saw the pictures she texted to me to show them off - i was on the waiting list within minutes!

my three new creations arrived this week and i am stoked to say the least, can't wait to put them on little miss and show them off. they are so perfectly made and i'm so excited to have the first ones off the production line.

(side note - this is hilarious, as she only has a little boy - and apparently he has been forced to model them as keryn pumps them out... pictures are hysterical!)

skatt turns 10

10 years ago this gorgeous friend of mine had a major brainwave - a vision of a fabulous salon - where they didn't only do your hair, but did beauty and tanning and had fashion shows and... she made it happen. 10 years ago lisa opened the first skatt salon, and ten years later, they are still going strong!

tonight they had their 10th anniversary fashion show at the mount hawthorn salon and i got the lovely surprise of two tickets in the mail! so my friend jo and i rushed down there to watch the show... it was amazing! after 10 years, they still manage to come up with funky, fresh ideas and blow us away with their stuff. it was a great night and i am so glad to have been able to go.

jo and i waiting for the show to start... possibly a little too excited haha.

at the end of the night we were all given a fabulous gift box and got to enjoy samples from the happy lab candy bar that the girls had set up. yummm.

in disappointing news, lovely lisa will be leaving us for the united states in a few months. her husband mark has been offered a job there, he's leaving in a few weeks and she'll soon be following him. :( we have been friends since we were little girls of 11 and have shared laughs, secrets and so many memories over the years... i am so happy for her to have such an awesome opportunity, but can't help being bummed that she's leaving. better get in all the fun we can before she disappears!

another day... somewhere else cool to be!!

friday night, dannii, me and lisa hit up the skatt claremont re-launch. the salon has moved from old theatre lane in bayview terrace, to times square - next to claremont quarter. fabulous as always, with parades, loud music and gift bags :)

congrats to my other lisa on another beautiful salon!
