skatt turns 10

10 years ago this gorgeous friend of mine had a major brainwave - a vision of a fabulous salon - where they didn't only do your hair, but did beauty and tanning and had fashion shows and... she made it happen. 10 years ago lisa opened the first skatt salon, and ten years later, they are still going strong!

tonight they had their 10th anniversary fashion show at the mount hawthorn salon and i got the lovely surprise of two tickets in the mail! so my friend jo and i rushed down there to watch the show... it was amazing! after 10 years, they still manage to come up with funky, fresh ideas and blow us away with their stuff. it was a great night and i am so glad to have been able to go.

at the end of the night we were all given a fabulous gift box and got to enjoy samples from the happy lab candy bar that the girls had set up. yummm. 

in disappointing news, lovely lisa will be leaving us for the united states in a few months. her husband mark has been offered a job there, he's leaving in a few weeks and she'll soon be following him. :( we have been friends since we were little girls of 11 and have shared laughs, secrets and so many memories over the years... i am so happy for her to have such an awesome opportunity, but can't help being bummed that she's leaving. better get in all the fun we can before she disappears!

skatt autumn show

last night jamie-lee and i went to a skatt event - the autumn fashion show. i love the skatt parades, their salons have a giant pink bench that runs all the way down the middle, which becomes a catwalk for such occasions. the clothes they showed were from local boutiques and some of them were pretty freaking nice. maybe one of these days when i win lotto i'll go on a big spend up :) i always appreciate a good night out with mates and had a heap of fun ♥

skatt experience

last week i had the awesome opportunity to be a mystery client for my good friend lisa's salon skatt in mount hawthorn. it was fabulous!! her girls are doing such a good job and my hair looks great. finally got rid of that 2 inches of grey (thanks for that mum and dad!!) regrowth that i've been collecting since miss madeline was born. i was given wonderful, friendly service and a colour and style that i would be happy to recommend to anyone. so go and get your hair done there. go go go!!!

(a rather old photo but very cute!) she opened her first salon in her very early twenties and has been doing a great job ever since... the salons are very modern with heaps to look at, and offer fresh new looks and not only hair, but tanning and beauty treatments too!! all in one place... who could ask for more?

she and the staff have also put on wa's biggest hair and fashion show every year called skattwalk... not to ever be missed! so freaking good. we're talking along the lines of the victoria's-secret-fashion-show good here. :)

ta-dahhhh - an inside look at the mount hawthorn salon. so amazing. when the salons have their seasonal fashion shows - that hot pink "table" down the centre of the salon becomes a catwalk and the models strut their stuff on it. honestly couldn't be cooler.

so take my word for it - you won't have a better experience anywhere else. get going! x

friday night, dannii, me and lisa hit up the skatt claremont re-launch. the salon has moved from old theatre lane in bayview terrace, to times square - next to claremont quarter. fabulous as always, with parades, loud music and gift bags :)

and had a blast!!
