pippa skye's surprise bday!

i love this girl! so much! and tonight we got to celebrate her turning 31 with a lovely surprise dinner at siena's in leederville that another one of her gorgeous friends organised. you should have seen her face! completely unaware that it was in the works, thought she was rocking up for a casual dinner with a few friends... and there we all were - waiting. there were smiles, there was a few tears, but she was loving it! 

pip and i became firm friends when doug and i moved into dianella ward when we got married (8 years ago now yikes!) we knew each other as teenagers (and even unknowingly dated the same boy - apparently at the same time - a.w.k.w.a.r.d...) we weren't overly keen on being mates back then - but totally hit it off once we had grown up some.

since then we have spent a ridiculous amount of time together - laughed, cried, agreed, disagreed, had kids, worn each others clothes, eaten copious amounts of food, shopped (and op-shopped) up a storm, watched buttloads of televison, partied hard, teased each others husbands and just generally loved the hell out of each other.

i wouldn't trade her friendship for anything - she's amazing.

good things come...

 

this beautiful girl got the most amazing surprise on sunday afternoon... sally, our friend from church bought dominique a guitar for her birthday! i cannot think of anyone more deserving - and seeing her face when she discovered what it was, was worth a million bucks.

 

 

it's not always about good things coming to those who wait -

 

 

but good things coming to those who deserve them...

and oh she does!

jamie-lee has a birthday!

our gorgeous friend jamie-lee will be 30 next month, and as she's due to have her first baby not too long after, her lovely husband and family decided to throw her a surprise birthday party on saturday night.

her mum never disappoints and as usual it was a fabulous night. perfect food, friends and atmosphere. doug and i had great time catching up with pip and steve and clowning around as per usual...

 

 

there was a quiz handed around with some questions to see who knew the most about jamie-lee and with 30 seconds to go (as in when they announced that they'd be going through the answers), i pulled out my sheet and started scribbling... only to pull first place and take home a bottle of bubbly! wooo! i bet no one counted on my impressive powers of recollection haha. steve on the other hand impressively knew absolutely nothing and won the same prize as me... grrr. good for a picture though!

was a great night and it was truly wonderful to see jamie-lee so surprised. happy 30th chick!

for no reason at all

i love my mum for so many reasons, more than i could ever write - even if i spent the next 3 weeks listing them. but one of the things i love the most is when she does special things for me, for no reason at all. like yesterday, she came to visit - and brought me these beautiful seduction roses from her garden. just beautiful! she's a wonderful mummy, and i am so glad she's mine.
