aladdin the musical

last night was amaaaaaazing! i can honestly say that probably my all time favourite movie is the walt disney cartoon aladdin. i love it so much. the story, the songs, aladdin himself (i mean seriously, what little girl wasn't in love with him haha), the marketplace, the outfits... i just love it all so much. the first movie i can remember seeing at the cinema is actually aladdin, mum took isaac and i with our cousins renee and jaydon during the school holidays when i was a kid. so imagine if you will, my absolute delight when i opened a christmas gift from doug to find not only the aladdin musical soundtrack, but tickets to the musical for the week after it opened in perth! so chuffed. so i waited and waited and waited some more, for 7 whole months, until the time came for us to go and watch it.

and it was so worth the wait! the sets were amazing (i would expect nothing less from disney), the storyline wasn't ruined through stage adaption (always a plus) and the additional songs were gorgeous!

i just loved everything about it! i felt like the luckiest girl alive as i watched it all come to life before me.

disney, you have done it again. you are amazing!

singin' in the rain

i received a wonderful birthday present from doug this year, that i got to cash in today, when we attended the stage production of singin' in the rain at the crown theatre. i have loved the movie for years and was absolutely chuffed when i opened my birthday gift...

he had even gone above and beyond and invited my parents to attend with us! it was such an awesome show and so much fun to watch, it even rained on stage!!!! there was a downpour at the end of the first and second acts and watching the cast dance and sing about in it as the first few rows got drenched with it flying around in the "splash zone" was hilarious. 

i loved it so much, if you are in perth and have a chance to get tickets, then go for sure!! 

maddie does the lion king

the luckiest little girl in the world got to go to the lion king last night with aunty dom and nanna leah! she was so insanely jealous that i had been and couldn't take her with me when i went a few weeks ago and had been asking non stop when it would be her turn...

so aunty dom asked maddie to come to their house for a "very special surprise" then informed her that they would be going to the lion king! she was so excited, loved every single second and sang along with the biggest grin on her face. how lucky we are to have bonus family, who love our children so much. ♥

i have the best flipping friends in the world... today i got to go to the lion king musical at crown perth, thanks to my gorgeous friend keryn who had an extra ticket.

i was completely and utterly blown away! what an amazing show. disney have such an amazing team and put so much thought into their design, sets, music and especially their costumes... i could barely spare a second to blink... and during some scenes barely knew where to look, as everything was so incredible. 

my firm favourite in the show was definitely zazu (the kings assistant dodo bird), he was incredibly done by a puppeteer and really stole the show. 

two very enthusiastic thumbs up from me,,, if you aren't planning on going, change your plans.
