the maddie's had a sleepover tonight! i am not one for sleepovers. if i had to sleep at someone's house as a kid, i honestly felt like i was being punished, so i can't understand why my kids want to sleep anywhere other than in their own bed.
i have also set the rules while they were young, that sleepovers are just a no in general, but that if they do happen one day, that it would have to be someone whose parents i knew really well. both of them. not just the mum, the dad too. and i am sticking to my guns on that... you cannot be too safe with your children.
anyway, madi's parent had a suddent change of plans tonight, when madison was meant to sleep at someone else's house, but they had the risk of having been exposed to covid due to an interstate arrival. madi's mum asked me very hesitantly if she would be able to stay the night at our house and i of course said yes. i don't mind people sleeping here! the only condition was that madison had to come to church with us tomorrow, to which kaz just laughed and said it would be good for her!
the girls and joseph proceeded to have an absolute party at our place and also asked me to drive them around to look at some of the fun christmas light displays we know. they had the best time, played the music loud in the car and laughed non stop.
i love knowing that our kids have such good friends.
the request when we got home was then a "hotcold" which is a hot milo, with a scoop of vanilla icecream instead of milk and for the girls, sprinkles on top. yummmmmm.
