this week has been quite the adventure... a few weeks ago oli got rear ended by someone not far from her work, it was on a straight road, no one else around and somehow he ended up hitting her, maybe he was on his phone or something? who knows! anyway we took her car in to be assessed and booked in for repairs, that was all well and good, until we turned up to drop it off and found out that the insurance company had written it off! oh my word. that meant we had to get onto a new car for her asap with no notice.
funny thing is, when we took it in for the assessment i had been playing around with her and was all "oh won't it be awesome if they write it off? wow you could get a new car oli!" but then it really happened. worst bit was, they had been trying to get hold of her the entire time to let her know that it was a write off (we are still gobsmacked, the damage was pretty minimal, but obviously due to the cars age, repairs were not worthwhile.) but had one digit of her phone number wrong! ugh.
anyhoo, we found that out wednesday, went off to find her something wednesday night... thankfully i had been looking recently so we already had a car in mind and it was the one we bought... her car was collected thursday and here we are today having an adventure with the kids at kings park, because someone needed to drive her to chemo as she hasn't been able to pick it up yet.
sigh. dropped her at the hospital, had breakfast at mcdonalds with the kids and then drove up to kings park so we could do the treetop walk. it is such a treat! the most beautiful view, green everywhere... and we even got the best parking spot, directly next to the walk, drove in and it was empty! couldn't believe my luck!
i know i say this over and over and you all must be so bored with hearing it, but we are so lucky to live in perth western australia. the weather is amazing, the landscape is amazing, we have beaches, hills, valleys, everything. it's just the best. i mean seriously, look at this view from the walk back at the city.
at the end of the walk, you can do down to a little waterside park area, it is so pretty and peaceful and the kids wandered about looking at everything there.
and they even kindly smiled for a photo with their mum ❤
the little bridge that runs alongside the waters edge pagoda is the perfect spot to stop and have a look around.
but my favourite bit is the giant boab tree by the carpark. it was moved from the kimberley region in he north of western australia, some 3200kms way 12 years ago, which you can read about here. its so beautiful. we had a wonderful morning together while we waited for grandma, how lucky are we to be in wa?
