Encanto obsessed

Since Maddie and co watched Encanto on Disney+ at the Pinkers, they have been hooked. The keep singing the songs, making jokes from it and today, we were treated to an Encanto dress up challenge from the Madi's while they were trying to entertain themselves. I haven't actually seen the movie yet and had to google pictures of who they were dressed up as, but I think it is safe to say they absolutely nailed it!

Since this post, I have seen Encanto, about 20 times. I know all the songs, all the characters and oh my goodness are the kids nuts about it, especially Alex so we often have to sit through it (or at least just the songs) on repeat. They are so ridiculously catchy - especially "We don't talk about Bruno." I am amazed by that song, with so many melodies going on at once, but all working perfectly together. I was not at all surprised to hear that Lin Manuel Miranda had written the music to the movie, everything he touches turns to gold. It's another classic for sure.

yw talent night

these little monsters were invited to make a special guest appearance at the young womens talent night this evening dancing their own choreography jazz duo. i thought it was so lovely that elena thought of them and invited them, a little sneak peek of the fun coming in young womens for madeline and another church opportunity for madison haha.

considering they had to condense the size of their routine quite a bit to fit in our relief society room they did so well. the older girls loved it and gave them lots of compliments.

and it's great that they have another chance to practice it in front of an audience as it won't be that long before they are on stage at comps!

i love these two little besties and all the fun (and drama! lol) that comes with them. they are the best fun!

 

the markets with the maddie's

kaz and i took these little besties to the guildford twilight markets this evening and it was hilarious. they decided they were going to get dressed up all nice, which involved nice dresses, 90s hair do's and tattoo necklaces. i honestly felt like i was back in high school watching them and could barely contain my laughter

they then insisted on getting matching rainbow bunny face painting (cause it's easter tomorrow of course)

then danced about in front of a rather large audience on the gazebo by the live musicians.

i love these girls. i really do - and i hope they never change. ❤

 

step up finale

kaz and i have just spent the entire afternoon listening to the same song over and over (let's love by david guetta and sia) while the maddie's learned the finale song for their filmed concert that they'll be watching at the cinema in a few weeks. they nailed it pretty quickly and we got it filmed no trouble at all, ready to send of, only we then realised the lighting was terrible and it needed to be done outside, back to square one.

the filing was a las minute addition to their concert that was completely filmed in our dance studio in ellenbrook due to the fact that the owners didn't want the concert to be affected, or cancelled by covid restrictions or possible lockdown. it was a fabulous idea, but they still wanted the opportunity for the classes to combine like they actually would for the finale in regular times, so they came up with the idea of all the students learning a set routine and then cutting and pasting them all together. we've done our bit and i can't wait to see the end result!
