doug's bestie came to spend the weekend with us and the boys had the best time together - but didn't get to do much - cause it rained and rained and rained and then rained some more! i swear this is the wettest september we have had in years, i mean it is meant to be spring after all...
on sunday afternoon it seemed to clear up a little though and we drove out to swan view to the old train tunnel. i have always loved that place and doug was keen for a visit too.
you have to walk out a pathway, from which one side slopes sharply away - and all you could hear today was water rushing in the background - well, it's got to go somewhere i guess! would have been great fun to go looking for it if we didn't have a pram...
it was getting darker as we got to the actual tunnel and it looked so surreal in the light, with the water running everywhere and the darkness round about. kind of spooky and old worldly even. i have to admit, it was way cooler in the rainy weather than i have ever seen it before, even though we couldn't go in because it was all flooded...
but outside was just as good for a look...
it is the coolest place, i don't know why we don't go more often.
maddie got a bit grumpy on the walk back to the car - i think it was getting a bit too cold for her... but as soon as daddy cuddled her she was all smiles again. she was thrilled to see uncle james and would not leave him alone the whole weekend. adorable.
