a one day attempt of school holidays

the kids had their one day of school holidays today, before they go back to school tomorrow. it has been a loooong few weeks, with the funeral and all the required arrangements, which of course happened in the school holidays. but we made it through and to attempt to make it up to them, we delivered big time today.

a day at the zone bowling and timezone in joondalup! don't let alex's face fool you, they all had an amazing time and laughed and had lots and lots of fun.

we bowled...

and even ordered lunch to be delivered to our lane, which alex thought was the greatest thing in the world, as we ate our hotdogs and chips with heaps of tomato sauce that he kept loading on.

my little "twins" having the time of their lives.

i added a photo of this as i have never been prouder in my life, i am absolutely rubbish at car racing games - and somehow i beat everyone, including the computer! definitely a "photo or it didn't happen moment" recorded here for all future generations of my family.

alex's favourite part of the day though, was this game in the timezone area. the roof drops all the balls and you have to put them in the hole before they roll out of the machine at the base. he could have stayed in there for hours and loved it even more when madeline joined him in there too.

what a day. deep breaths and ready to go back off to school tomorrow. let's hope they make it through okay.

bowling with our besties

school holidays just wouldn't be complete without a date with our besties, the niupalau girls. bowling was the order of the day this time around and off we went to give it a whirl.

these kids are more than happy to do absolutely nothing together, but they loved bowling... other than the multiple balls we managed to wedge into the gutters around us. kids mate.

we had debated booking multiple games, but are so glad we only did one, because that took so long as it was.

i love these people. best there is! we re very blessed to have the friends we do.

hungry jacks for lunch, bowling and a kmart trip to finish.
best day ever!

long weekend fun

this is the face of joy on a public holiday! today we decided to go bowling with the pinker crew and the kids had the best time. last time we went, we didn't put joseph in as i was a little worried he wasn't quite big enough, this time, you couldn't keep him away, he was going crazy, throwing the ball, trying to throw a 14lb-er and generally just getting into mischief. but we had so much fun. so many laughs... and joseph was actually kicking everyones butt until the 5th frame! his victory dance was something to behold... every time he threw the ball, he'd jump up and down on the spot (mostly not even watching where the ball was going) until someone made him come back and sit down.

sharing a milkshake with big sis, apparently the most important part of the bowling experience.

afterwards we moved over to the arcade area where doug got to work winning the kids 8 hundred and something tickets, so they had a good pick from the prizes...

they just kept coming and coming and madeline was stoked!

such a good day. we love our pinkers! ♥

sometimes we bowl

tonight we went bowling with dougs parents, his sister (who amazingly avoided any pictures, she is here i promise) and the kids. we used to go bowling quite regularly back in the day when i lived in qld and we all loved it, so it was great to do it again all these years later, especially with the addition of the kendall kids!

little poser!

i had quite the lead until the 5th frame, until doug decided that he was going to slaughter me and from then on in it was an absolute fail. i must day i have never been good at bowling anyway, i think if i ever managed to win, i'd have a heart attack.

doug giving madeline and joseph some help. we didn't actually put joseph in the game this time around but will absolutely have to next time as he was right into it!

dinner afterwards at grilld in midland? it was pretty much the perfect night! ♥

bowlarama

this morning we went off to have some fun at the bunbury bowling alley with dannii and cody and the kidlets. we had the best time, with lots of fun and laughs and some excellent bowling from our preggo friend dannielle, who put us all to shame and beat the lot of us! what a legend.

i have to say, this girl has got sass, she loved every minute of it and leapt up when it was her turn, eager to push the ball with daddy's help.

considering maddie is four years old... she did pretty well, even if we did leave the bumpers up and had the ramp ready for her to push little yellow ball off of. we will definitely have to make this a more regular occurrence as she got so into it.

with her little yellow ball," it looks like a dinosaur egg mummy!"

and the cutest part of our day, young master joseph, who sat in his highchair next to the chairs on one side of our lane, simply observing and keeping an eye on things. he is the cutest. that sweet little face makes me so happy... ♥ thank goodness he was happy to be there too.
