our last stop for today...
i could find no better explanation for the purpose of the bahai temple than this quote on their website: the baha'i house of worship, sometimes known as the baha'i temple, is open to everyone. it is a place of prayer and meditation for all: a gift from the baha'is that demonstrates their faith in the oneness of god, the oneness of his prophets and the oneness of humanity.
it truly is a peaceful building, beautifully finished and quite obviously dedicated to prayer and reflection. i really enjoyed the short time we spent in there, reading the phrasing set in the nine wooden panels around the circular meeting area and enjoying the quiet within.
each panel held such a profound quote that i could not help taking a photograph of each to keep. the baha'i quite obviously believe in equality and peace among mankind.
i snapped this great pic of my dear old dad too... what a gorgeous man he is. i am so glad to be able to spend all this time with him!
the gardens were amazing too, kept pristine by the gardeners. i have always thought that love for surrounds show love for a building, and these were incredible! this path looked so sweet and inviting. it lead to another building nearby, a visitors centre where we could read more about the faith and the temple we had just seen.
other religions fascinate me to no end and i am so pleased to have learnt more of yet another today. ♥
