adventure world: family fun day

dougs mum works for an amazing company, lite n easy. throughout the year, they organise family fun days, which include taking their staff and their families to adventure world! we have never had the chance to go before, because they have always arranged it on a sunday. but this time, it was a saturday!

after picking grandma up, we drove out to bibra lake and got to the park not long after it opened. go karts seemed to be a must for my car obsessed little boy so we got straight into that line and didn't have to wait too long, phew!

going to adventure world with kids was a completely new experience for me, i've only ever been there a few times, with school in my teens and once as an adult a few years back... everything has changed so much since then, there is a huuuuge kids water playground, which the kids loved. they spent ages going up and down the tower, playing in the spray and using the water slides. thank goodness it was a hot day!

there are also a butt load of kids rides, which i didn't even know about (obviously i would have never had a need to go into the kids section before) which were so much fun! some were small enough for doug and i to go on with them and we had a great time.

there is also a creek like system with mini waterslides that go through a garden area, between little pools and end up in a larger one, about 30cm deep, so safe for small children, with more fountains and sprays about the place. they were loving life!

dougs mum was more than happy to just chill under the trees with alex and cuddle and play with him through the day. as we came back for lunch (fully catered by the company through the adventure world restaurants! meat and gravy rolls, salads, fresh fruit... it was so yum!)  and to feed him a few times, she looked so happy. it certainly made our day easy!

we stayed until late in the afternoon and had the best time. what an awesome day.

adventure world!

oh my goodness. the last time i went to adventure world i was about 13/14 years old, on a school reward excursion, so (giving away my age here) it was about 20 years ago. we went today as a final hurrah before we send bryan back off to america... and how it has changed!! they still have the go-karts, the pedal cars on the monorail, the sky lift and skull rock... but so many new things! amongst those is an insane new rollercoaster, the abyss... which was awesome! i'd say it was well worth the money that adventure world would have had to fork out on it, especially considering how weak the old one was!

we had a pretty relaxing day just chilling and riding the pedal cars around the top of park

and the chair lift across the pools and rest of the park...

what an awesome place for the kids adventure world is though! we didn't take ours today, but there is a "kids cove" with heaps of awesome, bright, low impact rides, pools and a water playground... we'll take them next time, i am sure they will love it!
