somehow the clock ticked way too much - and this adorable boy is yet another year older. our joseph turned five yesterday! he is so funny, makes great car noises, loves to laugh about butt and poop jokes ( a real little boy) and is obsessed with cars and lego. he is reading hard words and amazing his teachers and will still happily kiss and cuddle me in public, and hold my hand to cross a road. i just love him. i am obsessed with his cute face and that adorable toothless smile. (i am still very much hoping they grow back before too long.)
i especially love his favourite game, when he asks you to participate in one of his hot wheels races. you are given two or more cars to choose from so you can enter the race. but be warned, your car will never, ever win. sometimes you'll even not be allowed to have the car you have chosen, because he's already decided that it's going to be the winner. classic.
for school we had mini vanilla cupcakes with vanilla bean icing and lolly bananas on top. they were apparently a huge hit with the class, although i have my suspicions that many of the kids may have just eaten the banana and/or icing and been done with it.
he got plenty of lego, which he was thrilled to pieces, including an imagination set with 900 odd pieces. i am sure he'll have plenty of fun with that!
and some speed champions from us. words weren't enough to describe his excitement, for lego is life to him. haha.
a banana cake was his request, so i got to work making one for him and he was so happy. i love that it is so easy to make him happy. he is just the sweetest thing.
i am assuming he is going to wish for more cars and more lego... there isn't much else he wants. i wish my life was that easy.
don't blow it little one, five looks good on you.
i have to include this photo cause i love it so much. doug was holding up the candle to him and saying "you're three aren't you?" i love the picture of absolute horror on his little face. he was so offended that doug was asking him that. we did have a good laugh with him though, on saturday after his birthday party, i said to him, "joseph, how old are you now?" "i'm five!" "nope, sorry mate, you're still four. good try though/" he was so careful to say four after that, until he knew without a doubt it was his actual birthday. too funny.
joseph kendall, you are so, so loved.
