doing time...

last night i took "my girls"
aggie, caiti, crystal, chantal, kerri-lee & miriam
to the freo prison for the torchlight tour

the torchlight, as it's name suggests is at night - and is dark and cold.... with lots of crazy goings-on. unfortunately this was a little too much for one of girls - who just didn't take it well when stumbling upon a "ghost" in the yard, when mass hysteria and sobbing ensued. however, we did all have a lot of fun and... it was definately worth it!

what can i say? i am truly 100% a freo gal at heart :)

me and the husband. hotness personified.
gotta love a good behind bars pic!

three "nieces" in four days!!

i am offically the proudest aunty in the world after managing to make it through 3 births in 4 days! woweeee.
that's enough for a bit girls!
on friday 23.07 lisa and mark welcomed:
madison sarah grinceri
born at glengarry hospital
3102grams at 2:50pm
sunday 25.07 chelsea and ammon had a huge surprise when:
nasia joan cooper
decided that she just couldn't wait until november and decided to make an appearance fifteen weeks early at 3:24pm in queensland
weighing a very teeny 811grams
a very good choice of name -
i looked it up in a baby book this morning and it means in hebrew
"miracle"
and i bet she is!
she's obviously not very patient!
and then...
just 5 minutes ago i got a text from my beth
beth and maui have just welcomed
nimera marnie lee whaanga
born 26.07 at 12:36pm in queensland weighing 3030grams
three beautiful little girls ready to be spoilt rotten by aunty jade
i'm very excited!!
i've met miss maddie on saturday afternoon - and she is darling - very cuddly and quiet, quite obviously worn out. but... i did deliver on my promise (lisa and i spent wednesday night last week trying to bribe her out) with her first pair of shoes!
love to you all!

mumsie

i don't think i have ever in my life had a better friend than this crazy woman. my mother is the coolest person i know. by far. looking at her is pretty much like looking in a mirror that predicts the future... and i am totally okay with the results.
mum had her 57th birthday on saturday (sorry to give away your age mum!) and i swear she still has more energy than me. she cooks better than any restaurant i know, makes awesome clothes, quilts, bags, bears... (you name it - and she's tried it - or is still making it!) and is always there when i need her - and even sometimes when i don't. haha... one of my gfs knew from facebook that mums bday was on sat and i was jokingly chastised that our new work photocopier had received it's own post and that mum didn't rate a mention.
so here you are babs! your very own post. all about you.
barbara gwendoline goodlet was born in subiaco, wa, to parents gwendoline madge gardiner and roy stanley marshall on 17 july 1953. she became older sister to julie ann, brian roy and john stanley (who sadly didn't make it past a month) in the years to come.
at the tender age of 11, babs informed her mum that she was "in love with neil goodlet" and "going to marry him one day" much to nannas amusement. the day however did come - 7 years later in november 1971 when she and neil were married in the lds chapel in preston point rd bicton after dad popped the question "barbara, if i asked you to marry me - what would you say??"
mum was all but finished her hairdressing apprenticeship when baby number 1 arrived - jared leon on feb 1973, followed by aaron judd 2 years later - jan 1975 - and then two more kiddies isaac neil in may 1981 and saving the best for last - jade ellen in dec 1983. definately the best christmas present she ever got. mum told me once after 3 boys, she was so convinced that there would be another one that a girls name for me hadn't even been chosen - and i was going to be "jacob seth".
mum has had lots of jobs in recent years - but has always been the best at just being a mum. i couldn't ask for a better one - and if i do turn into you in years to come, like the boys keep predicting... i am sure i'll be okay - and cope quite well :)
i love you mum!
happy birthday - and may there be many more
xx

mac and cheese

lisa is back from the states and brought me all kind of wonderful gifts! it's very nice to have her "home" again... and even nicer to lay about on the couches and get her addicted to glee along with the rest of us!

go the gleeks!

my gifts included:
kool aid
and... kraft mac and cheese

the mac and cheese is a big joke to us... apparently the american sort is somewhat superior to ours. i have to be honest... i am not feeling it. it's a bit bland and plasticy for my liking. but you never know until you try it!
i am staying on team australian mac and cheese... thankyou

in with the new!

we got a new copier this week at work
it was very exciting
it is black and and shiny and new
with a built-in fax

and did i mention it's new?
all our others have been second-hand,
and pretty much - well... crap

i almost cried tears of joy on it's arrival
like a new-born child
and yes... i am a sad human being
in dire need of a life

jade... out

jen and mats engagement party

the bride and groom to be...
(please notice the awesome boots from
everlastings on fitzgerald)

what an saturday afternoon!...
mat and jen truly know how to throw a party - i swear no one would have needed to eat for a week when they were done.
enough food for an army and enough to drinks to last until christmas!

and their house... is all done - and absolutely freaking gorgeous...
i am totally jealous and i'm not even kidding.
i'm tempted to build a house in my parents front yard!!

but all in all - i am super-excited for them!!
plus i had an awesome time

congrats kids!

and... just for good measure!!...
a party just isn't a party without one of these!

count your many blessings...

this sunday was fast sunday at church...
which of course meant fast and testimony meeting -
or starve and tell as my once teenage older brothers used to call it
(whilst complaining about it being called fast sunday when it always goes so slow)

it's when once a month (on the first sunday) we go without, and give the money we would have spent on food - to those who are constantly going without
i know that i, along with many of my friends and family spend quite a lot of time, constantly complaining about things i don't have. a new car, money, an awesome high paying job and clothes, always clothes...

but...

one of my closest friends has dramas in her house right now. big dramas, that certainly are not mine to go into... but her mother - got up, and poured her heart out on sunday. telling everyone all she had to be grateful for and about how - at her darkest and weakest moment, she had sat back and started to count her blessings. upon reaching 134 things she was grateful for, she stopped and went back to what she was meant to be doing...

but the strength of this woman has made me realise - that i have a lot to be grateful for,

so much in fact ♥

and i'm going to try and see it more often

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.

When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be disheartened, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
